Der Landgasthof Geeren, eine Beiz zwischen Dübendorf und Witikon, gehört mittlerweilen zu meinen Lieblingsrestaurants in der Gegend. Vor etwas mehr als 2 Jahren war ich das erste Mal dort, zusammen mit meiner Schwester (Anm.: wenn meine Schwester eine Beiz empfiehlt, dass ist das ein Garant für gute Küche und meistens auch tollen Service).
Wir haben zu Mittag gegessen, es uns gut gehen lassen, und irgendwann wollte meine Schwester die ganze Rechnung bezahlen. Mit Kreditkarte. Das ging aber nicht. Denn der Geeren akzeptiert nur Bargeld. Zu dumm, wenn man das nicht weiss und kein Cash dabei hat. Ich konnte meiner Schwester auch nicht aushelfen und wir haben uns schon auf eine Übung eingestellt: jemand bleibt im Restaurant und der andere fährt zum Bancomat in Dübendorf, um Bargeld zu beziehen.
Dann überraschte uns die Serviertochter (ohne den Chef zu fragen, spontan und ungefragt) und meinte, dass wir das Geld auch einfach im Laufe des Nachmittags vorbei bringen könnten. Und das geschah nicht, weil sie uns kannte – weder meine Schwester noch ich waren bis dahin Stammgäste. Das geschah einfach, weil man im Geeren noch Vertrauen in seine Kundschaft hat.
Schade, gibt es immer weniger Geschäfte – gerade im Online Bereich – welche die Erstbestellung nur gegen Vorkasse oder Nachnahme ausliefern. Ein bischen mehr Vertrauen täte auch hier gut und würde sicher den einen oder anderen Shopbesucher zum Kunden werden lassen, anstelle auf der Bezahlseite auszusteigen.
Übrigens: der Geeren ist nicht nur wegen seiner freundlichen und sehr herzlichen Atmosphäre ein Tipp – auch die Küche mag zu überzeugen: einfach und bodenständig.
